COOL MOS here means a superjunction MOSFET. The voltage-blocking layer keeps the usual power-MOSFET behavior and cuts conduction loss sharply.
Process
MHCHXM builds this COOL MOS flow on multi-layer epitaxy. The superjunction devices are more reliable in the application, and EAS and EMI are easier to pass. The target is hard-switched and soft-switched topologies that have to be efficient and straightforward to use.
Applications
Adapters, PC and TV supplies, servers, telecom, mining power, communication power, PV inverters, DC fast chargers and on-board chargers.
What the series is optimized for
Parasitic capacitance is set so switching loss and the switch-node peak or ring stay in balance without an internal gate resistor. External RG can then be chosen for the power stage, and several packages are available.
