A bipolar junction transistor (BJT) is a current-controlled device. It amplifies a small signal, and it can also switch a load without a mechanical contact. Inside the die are the base (b), emitter (e) and collector (c). Polarity is either PNP or NPN.
Darlington pairs and audio power transistors are the two series MHCHXM is featuring.
- A Darlington is two transistors in one package. Gain is very high, so it can source or sink more current than a single small-signal BJT, and it is normally used as a driver.

- The front end of a high-power amplifier
Audio power transistors handle more power at low noise, so they fit sound systems, amplifiers and speaker drivers.
